To solve the dilemmas of salability and inconsistent demand, humans have used some form of money as a medium of exchange for millennia. INF is the game money of the Infinite Fleet universe, and the official currency of the United Sol Federation. Players will be able to earn INF and use it for peer-to-peer trade. There is a fixed total supply of INF to be ever issued, giving it a property of scarcity.
INF is used in the Infinite Fleet P2P marketplace, a safe platform where players may buy/sell/trade their virtual goods with one another directly. The P2P marketplace will be driven by player supply and demand, and as will the prices of these player-listed virtual goods.
Players can easily access their INF balance and the Infinite Fleet P2P marketplace within the mobile companion app, and make bids on items or list items for sale anytime, anywhere. For players who become more familiar with using cryptoassets, they may also send/receive INF between their INF accounts and external wallets.
INF is a blockchain based game currency, meaning that it can be kept both inside or outside of the game. Compared to typical game currencies that remain in-game and leave players with the “leftover currency problem,” INF is portable and gives players flexibility and true ownership of the asset.
The INF token is issued on the Liquid Network, a secondary layer of the Bitcoin blockchain offering rapid and confidential transactions. By using federated signings and real-time BTC pegging, this second layer solution allows for convenient high frequency transactions without straying too far from the decentralization properties of its fundamental protocol.
INF tokens are not sold by us. Instead, they are fairly distributed via in-game participation and events. As you would earn gold by completing quests in many games, you can earn INF by participating in certain events and missions in Infinite Fleet. This is a gamified version of proof-of-work, where players are potentially rewarded for their time spent in game.
